Frequently asked questions:

Are you a licensed PE?

TJ is currently not a licensed PE. Therefore, he can not provide a stamp on any plans himself or assume any liability. However, he can complete the design and analysis, and provide structural drawings.  He has connections to get plans stamped by a PE if needed, but many times it's not required. It depends on the town and the complexity of the project.

Where is your service area?

Our service area is mainly Connecticut and Rhode Island. Most of the work we have done has been in the Greenwich/Fairfield CT area. We have also done some work in Southeastern CT and RI, and are continuing to expand in these areas. We are open to other opportunities in New England as well.

What does the typical design process look like?

Typically, we receive architectural drawings as a starting point. We then start developing our drawings and send progress sets for coordination. As the drawings become more complete, we provide a permit set (75%-90%), and then a construction set (100%).

How strong do you design the building?

We work with the client to determine the desired design strength and "bounciness". There are essentially 3 categories: code minimum, typical design, and luxury design. Depending on the scope of the project and the client's wishes, that could vary from project to project.
